The last to know?

I don't watch television very often, and up until today I missed out on this little gem of a commercial. I laughed so hard! I couldn't believe what I was seeing.:D At first I thought it was a spoof, but no, this is for real folks. Are you kidding me!?! Who comes up with these ideas? Hilarious!

It's Christmas

Wishing you all peace, love, and the merriest of days! Oh, and it snowed last night! Just a dusting, but a pretty sight to behold. :)

This song has been playing in my head all week.

Winter Solstice 2009

I Heard A Bird Song

"I heard a bird sing

In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December."

_Oliver Herford

Today is the Winter Solstice. The longest night of the year. I'll be lighting a candle and letting it burn to celebrate the gradual return of the sun. For me, it's a time of reflection and a time to look ahead to the coming year. Wishing you a happy Solstice day. :)

Missing Him

He's been on the road for 3 weeks. We talk everyday, but it's not the same as having him here. He did surprise me by calling and telling me he was coming to the house for his 36 hour restart. He had to pick up a loaded trailer in Rogers Arkansas. It's destination was Alabama. And since he was lucky enough to be this close to home, he could take his break here. It was wonderful having that time together. It almost feels like we're dating again. And that was a long time ago. We have been together f o r e v e r . Almost 27 years. And so while the time apart is hard sometimes, I think it's also made our union better and stronger then ever. It's made us appreciate each other more and not take our time together for granted. Not a day goes by that we don't say I love you. And I do love my man, my sweet, kindhearted, funny guy. We're counting down the days to his next home time already. I can't wait.

Love ya babe. This is for you.....
