I made these little birds using the free pattern from Spool Sewing. You can find the download here. I was inspired to create them, after viewing Spool's bird mobile, and birds on a branch, from Sew Liberated. I thought they would look right at home perched on a branch, atop the bookcase I just finished for Bailey's room, and they do. I simply set the branch on top of the bookcase and tucked the birds in amongst the branches. Bailey is quite happy with her little birds. She points and waves to them, and talks to them in her little singsong chatter. And seeing her happiness from something I've made her, makes me happy. So, I do believe that crafting = happiness, and that's a good thing.
