Sugar Scrub

Now that it's getting warmer and we're exposing more skin, I thought I would share a simple sugar scrub recipe that's great for exfoliating, softening, and moisturizing your skin. You can use this scrub for your face and body. Here's what you'll need:

1/2 cup organic sugar
1 tbsp. sweet almond oil

2-3 drops lavender essential oil (optional)
A jar to keep your sugar scrub in.

If you're going to use this as a body scrub, you will probably want to double the recipe.

Using a small bowl, add your sugar, almond oil, and essential oil. Mix it all together with a spoon, until well combined. Store in a pretty jar, and use within two to three weeks.

Here's how to use it:

For face: Cleanse your skin as usual, don't dry your skin. Scoop out about a tablespoon of the sugar scrub and gently massage into your skin. Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry. Here's a tip, if your skin is sensitive or you feel the scrub is too rough as is, add a few drops of water before applying to your face.

For Body: After cleansing, apply scrub to damp skin. Massage in gently. rinse with warm water. Use two to three times a week. I love this stuff. It really does soften and smooth your skin. The sweet almond oil is very nourishing and wonderful for all skin types, it doesn't clog your pores, it absorbs quickly, and doesn't feel heavy or greasy. Lavender is very soothing to the skin, smells clean and fresh, and balances the emotions.

Enjoy!
